Confirmation is a sacrament of strenthening to help us to live a Christian life. As on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is confirmed within us to give us the strength to live our faith more fully. It is an important sacrament for all Catholics, is the final sacrament of initiation, and should be recieved before entering into marriage.

In the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Baptized Catholics must be high school age by the time they are confirmed; therefore, Confirmation is completed in 9th grade.
Parents who have older students wishing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the office. Adults wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation should contact Fr. Michael McAndrew.
Choosing a sponsor is an important part of your preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is appropriate to first consider your Baptismal sponsor (godfather or godmother) to maintain the strong link between the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. If your Baptismal sponsor cannot be your sponsor for Confirmation, yo may choose another person. All sponsors must meet the following criteria:
Confirmation is scheduled for Sunday, February 20 at St. Patrick's - Tama, during the 10:30am Mass
Student/Sponsor Practice will be at SP on Sunday, February 20 at 9am (prior to Confirmation).
Confirmation Candidate Expectations: RE class attendance-no more than 2 unexcused absences, Retreat, Interview with Father Michael, Complete all given assignments, Regular Mass attendance,
